We need to understand and respond to feedback from website visitors to ensure we are achieving high levels of satisfaction.
Complaints from website visitors should be dealt with by webmasters as a priority and answered within 48 hours.
Emails will be responded to by webmasters within 48 hours and specific enquiries will be directed to desk officers and departments to deal with.
Privacy
We process personal data from website visitors for the purposes of promoting and protecting internationally the interests of the United Kingdom and its citizens and contributing to a stronger world community. Any personal data we keep of users can be used by other UK Government Departments and public authorities.
FCOWeb does not normally capture or store personal information from site visitors other than to log their IP address and session information such as the duration of the visit to the site and the type of web browser used.
Subscribers and users of interactive content such as our forums will have some of their personal information retained within the database so that we can issue e-mail alerts to registered users.
Cookies are used on the website if the website visitor chooses to have their details remembered in the registration form and JSession cookies are attached to any non-cached pages.

Registration information
Website visitors do not have to register to use the FCO websites, but they do need to register to take part in the discussions, register their details for forums or to receive email updates generated by new content published to one of the websites or to subscribe to a newsletter distribution list.
The FCO will store this information securely and will not share data with any third parties. We will only contact the website visitor as a direct response to feedback or updates that have been specifically requested.
